Slater got a Sponge Bob shaving kit from Santa Claus this year. I made him wait to use it until we moved into the new house and he could use it in his new bathroom :) He shaves every night :)

Slater had to have two teeth pulled a few weeks ago due to an abscess :( Poor guy is doing pretty well.....

He was curious what the tooth fairy looked like so we checked it out online and he was excited to see that she was just like a princess :)

We all had such an enjoyable christmas. Slater got a UFO thing for christmas from his MomMom and PopPop and has not been able to stop playing with it since he got it. He has great control of it and I like playing with it too :)

Sponge Bob and a very cute teddy bear went to a local farm last night for some fun on a hayride and a cornmaze. They also did some trick or treating in their grandparents neighborhood and made it back home in time to hand out some candy to some pretty scarey costumes!! Tonight they are going out again in our neighborhood with their friends. It should be a wonderful and spooky evening :)

Slater turned four last week and he went to his favorite restaurant for his birthday dinner. My parents took him to a Japanese Steak House. Slater has been enjoying helping me in the kitchen. Mostly we bake brownies or cookies but tonight he wanted to make pudding. Well...to jazz up the pudding we added bananas and put them in mini pie shells. YUMMY! Slater cut his own bananas with my supervision of course. It was so cute to watch his little lips curl as he was concentrating on cutting the perfect size :)

Slater and I had another full day today. We spent most of it outdoors enjoying the lovely day. Slater has gotten quite good at dribbling a basketball for a three year old. We also went on a few bike rides. I was trying to teach him how to pedal and wouldn't you know it....in the first five minutes the poor little guy was on the bike...I crashed him while I was trying to take a video. Needless to say- the video camera got put away and I just took two still photographs :)

Brian and I were watching TV one evening and he said that perhaps this year for Halloween he wanted to dress up as Gene Simmons from Kiss.... but he would have to find leather pants somewhere....Well- I used to be quite the social butterfly and believe it or not I used to be about 25 pounds heavier. I remembered that I had a old pair of leather pants in boys closet that might fit Brian. He didnt believe that I had any pants that would fit him. He was wrong. It was hysterical and we laughed like little kids as he put them on. Although they were very tight- he managed to put them on and this is the result we got :)

Slater was learning how to ride a bike yesterday. We had Curren for the weekend and his mom picked him up a scooter at a yardsale. Slater was just learning the concept of pedaling, so I do not know why Brian let Curren push the back of Slater's bike because Curren got too excited and pushed Slater too fast and when Slater turned the wheel he did a face plant on the cement. Just a few scratches on his forehead and a brush burn above his lip. This could have been very serious and I was NOT a happy camper.l

The Foot

As all of you know it has been a week since my foot surgery. I am slowly healing but ready for a "real" shower- ha ha. I went to the doctor today and was supposed to get the stitches out of the first incision by my toes- this did not happen :( I was also allowed to get the stitches wet around my ankle once these stitches were removed... not so!! I am in a stinky surgery shoe that I am supposed to wear all the time... I was sitting in bed- I took the shoe off to let my foot get some air because the shoe literally stinks-LOL and wouldnt you know all of a sudden I had to throw up (due to the pregnancy). I had no time to put the shoe on so I quickly made my way to the bathroom. While throwing up I felt a weird.. strange sensation in my foot- well- now I know I had split the incision open hence why the stitches must remain in my foot for another week :( The doctor was impressed though that I have only taken tylenol through this whole ordeal.... I was allowed to take something stronger but I didnt want to risk anything with the baby. I've included some pictures :)

About 10 or 15 years ago- my parents took my family to Freeport Bahamas for Easter. They have friends that also have a house on the island. While we were vacationing- my father and I went deep sea fishing on their friends boat. I caught a 35 pound Mahi Mahi. My parents recently came across this picture and gave it to me. Isnt it great?? Hey- I look pretty much the same too...right??? I didnt change that much did I ????LOL

Brian took the boys sledding over the weekend. Slater was a bit apprehensive at first but figured out it was alot of fun to go sledding down a hill with his daddy. Curren had alot of energy to blow off as usual... so after a long day of sledding the boys were exhausted... so was daddy!

Slater got a McDonalds drive thru from Santa Claus this year. HE LOVES IT! It is the neatest thing to watch his imangination grow and see the wheels turning inside that little head of his. His attention to detail is amazing.

Christmas 2008

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. The magic of Christmas was in the air!! Slater put out cookies for Santa and cereal for the reindeer!! He really seemed to get the hang of it this year and even would stop in the middle of opening his presents to help hand out more presents so everyone had one to open.. He has such a sweet soul!!

We finally finished our christmas tree last night... The boys did a wonderful job decorating with the help of their daddy. Slater was only interested in playing with the ornaments at first and then was more into watching Rudolf on the television.... Curren helped his dad from start to finish and did a GREAT job!! We had a blast going down memory lane and showing the boys ornaments Brian and I had made when we were kids...the boys thought some of them were pretty funny!!

The boys LOVE to watch movies with their Daddy. Surprisingly enough, they LOVE scary movies! While I was working my other job, Daddy let the boys watch Lord of the Rings.... yes Lord of the Rings!! Slater sat in the chair next to Curren with his blankee wrapped around his face... at one point he asked Curren to sit on his lap because he was scared... then they switched. Slater and Curren loved EVERY minute of it. I think this is by far their favorite monster movie!!

Slater's MomMom took us to the Land of the Little Horses on Sunday! Slater's Aunt Carole joined us in the VERY special day. Slater is so gentle when it comes to animals and he had such a GREAT time!! The weather was perfect- we couldn't have asked for a nicer day. All the animals were well behaved. Slater's fingers got nibbled twice- but he shook it off and kept right on going!

Slater is growing up soooo fast!! His Auntie Sara got him a fire engine big boy bed a few months ago. Brian put it together last night and I taped Slaters reaction. He was fine with it until it was time for bed... I am not sure if he was upset from the change or just from the fact that it was time to go to bed. He only got up once and then I layed with him and he drifted off to sleep and stayed in his bed ALL NIGHT LONG!!! He is such a big boy!!

Brian got to watch both boys yesterday while I was getting my hair done. He took them to a local playground and let them loose. Slater had his first Mudball experience and it looks like he loved it! Basically- you find a big puddle, grab a ball, and play in the mud!! When I got home last night I found muddy shoes outside the door and I had to giggle to myself because I know .... boys will be boys!!

The other night Brian had asked Curren to go in and change his brother's diaper, of course we would not have had Curren actually change his brother's diaper- but he said ok and went into their room to TRY and change Slater's diaper- but as you can see Slater escaped!! LOL

We had an awesome 4th of July as a family. Slater got to hold his first sparkler!! I thought he might be afraid, however he proved me wrong and enjoyed burning his daddy with the sparkler. We had a wonderful picnic at my parents and then the following day we went to Brittney's for another picnic. The boys (including daddy) had a great time on the giant waterslide. It was a day to remember!!

Slater's MomMom treated him to a haircut yesterday!! He went to one of those places for kids. If you notice he is in a car, notice the steering wheel by his face :) His hair turned out AWESOME as you can tell in the picture. Afterwards, MomMom, PopPop, and his auntie took us to Chuck E Cheese. Slater was very shy at first but warmed up after his dinner and then had so much fun he didnt want to leave. After that we were treated to ice cream at Cold Stone. What a fantastic day!

MomMom and PopPop got a frog pool for Slater to swim in!! MomMom had to work, so I asked PopPop if we could spend the day at his house. I told Slater we had a pool membership to the "Family Resort" Slater swam in the pool all day long, until he was pruned. Auntie Sara even got in the pool with him. PopPop hung out with us ALL day and played with Slater ALL day. I enjoyed a full day with my son!! Thanks PopPop!! :)

Slater had a wonderful day at his MomMom and PopPop's house on Sunday. He got to play all day outside. After dinner - they took him to a little local petting zoo to see the animals and have some icecream! He enjoyed saying "hi buddy" to all of them and feeding them. What a fun time he had!

We were invited to the cabin for a wonderful long weekend. The traffic on the way up was so-so- but it was worth it!! The boys enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, and exploring. We can't wait until we are invited back!!

Slater is finally starting to enjoy food!! He is starting to eat like a mini truck driver!!! Of course- everything that is on everyone else's plates are far more interesting and delicious than his :) Brian made old bay burgers and Slater LOVED them as you could see in the video!! I am so excited for his two year doctor's checkup to see how much weight he has gained. Last week, he was only 21 pounds :( But I am sure he will start moving up the scale in NO time!!

We took the boys to the park yesterday to get some fresh air and burn off some steam. They had a fabulous time. Curren is really getting good at skateboarding!! Even dad got some practice in. We had such a fantastic Easter!! The Easter Bunny was good to all of us. Slater had his first easter egg hunt. He knew exactly what to do- however in the beginning he threw the easter eggs like balls- but once we showed him to place the eggs in the basket- he was a pro.

The food was fantastic as always-we didnt get Curren until later on in the day- and he was sick from eating too much candy :( Slater and Curren got silly string in their baskets- as you can tell in one of the pictures, Slater and I planned a sneak attack on Curren and Daddy. I think Slater was a little scared once he saw what flew out the bottle onto his brother and daddy because he ran. Poor kid- I hope he is not traumatized- lol

A Day of Sledding!!

Everyone got together over the weekend and the children got an opportunity to go sledding!! Slater did not have any snow pants to fit him this year- so he borrowed a pink pair from Aunt Brittney. LOL We all had such a wonderful time! I have also changed the settings on this blog so I should be able to receive ALL comments now. Brian built the boys a knock hockey game for Christmas. It turned out awesome- and the boys LOVE to play it. We just have to make sure little fingers and faces are protected at all times during the game. lol I am not sure who plays rougher, Curren or Slater :)

Slater's daycare was closed for President's Day- and he got to spend an entire day with his Mom Mom!! He recently discovered the piano and boy does he like to jam!!

Aunt Jamie had treated the boys to a childrens play gym over the weekend. They had so much fun!! Slater tried to keep up with Curren - but gave up after awhile. He was a bit overwhelmed especially because his daddy left him go down a sliding board ALL BY HIMSELF!! I didn't figure it out until I snapped the picture!! Needless to say- Curren loved jumping in the balls and climbing the walls while Slater found his fun playing in the playhouse and their play kitchen :)

Slater has recently developed a STRONG attachment to his blankees. Not any particular one yet- all different types. I was able to snap a picture of him with his sunglasses on with his blankee and boy oh boy did he think he was cool! You can see his "model" face- geez if only I would have put his backpack on- the little guy would have been on top of the world! lol

Poor Slater had a rough weekend. He went to the emergency room late Friday night and we found out he has pneumonia!! He is one sick little guy! Despite being sick- Slater finally will wear his sunglasses. He is one cool little dude with his Sunglasses and Blankee! He also had fun visiting with his MomMom and PopPop this weekend. His favorite game to play with his PopPop is to lay on a blanket and be pulled accross the room. MomMom made him a house out of a cardboard box and Slater enjoyed reading books with her too.
